    Contracts Specialist

    The Contracts Specialist will provide experienced support in every aspect of the contract lifecycle and use creative thinking skills to drive solutions that help solve the critical missions that KORD and its parent, KBR Wyle Services, serves. This position will be a valuable business partner and responsible for activities associated with proposal development/submittal and contract management/administration on multiple assigned contracts.

    The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of all contract types and enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced environment dealing with complex contracting matters. They will be expected to work independently with minimal oversight, research compliance issues, interpret regulations, and formulate recommendations, using knowledge of FAR, DFAR and other Customer regulations. Act as the primary focal point within their assigned business area for customer interface with Company during all phases of contract performance. Solve problems, develop solutions, and assist their Sr. Mgr and corporate Senior Leadership in achieving their financial and performance goals and objectives.

    Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following

    • Participation in advance planning discussions of new business pursuits.

    • Teaming and non-disclosure agreements.

    • Contract negotiation and contract administration to ensure proper contract attainment and implementation of contract requirements in accordance with company policies.

    • Project initiation support including modification entry in department databases/systems.

    • Identifies, tracks, mitigates, and resolves risk issues.

    • Legal requirements, and customer specifications.

    • Preserve Intellectual Property through timely notification of intellectual property rights to the government in accordance with regulations.

    • Assist during government audits and reviews.

    • Support Contract Closeout team to include intellectual property reporting and certification, government property disposition and certification and final invoicing.

    • Maintain current knowledge regarding developments and changes in government contract law through such avenues as research, articles, conferences and training or continuing legal education.

    This position reports to a Sr. Contracts Manager at the KBR Huntsville office (local candidate preferred but willing to consider strong non-local)

    Required Skills:

    • 5+ years of experience in Government Contract Management.

    • Experience working with FAR, DFARS, Agency regulations, ITAR, etc.

    • Experience in generating and negotiating proposals/contracts.

    • Experience with T&M, Fixed Price and Cost Type Contracts as well as IDIQ vehicles.

    • Effective Communicator and Negotiator.

    • Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills.

    • The ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, manage time effectively and work independently to meet time sensitive deadlines.

    • Willingness to actively engage with contracts resources for help and to develop and share best practices.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project)

    • B.S. / B.A. Majors: Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, and/or Business Law. Other degrees would be considered.

    Desired Skills:

    • Organized and systematic approach to task management that enables timely closure of actions.

    • Ability to work independently with limited guidance.

    • Experience working GSA Multiple Award Schedules (MAS)

    • Experience working OTA (Other Transactional Authority) contracts

    • Experience with CostPoint and Sharepoint.
