    This position offers a hybrid work schedule which includes telework days and in office days at a DLI office building.

    This position uses data analytics platform, reporting tools and visualization techniques to turn raw data into meaningful insight that will help Department of Labor and Industry (DLI) staff and leadership make informed decisions. They are a recognized leader in the use of data in supporting DLI business units and providing answers to questions using both DLI data and external data.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Four years' experience* in data management to include analysis and reporting.

    *Doctorate degree may substitute for two years of experience; Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associates degree may substitute for six months of experience.

    Applicants who meet the above experience requirements will be further evaluated based on the following during the interview:

    • Skill in designing, developing and implementing a business intelligence (BI) service.

    • Develop and execute database queries and conduct analysis and test hypotheses .

    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure data fidelity and provide data expertise regarding trends and patterns in data.

    • Ability to complete ad-hoc data requests ensuring data quality and accuracy standards are met.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who may not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or common experiences.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in Transact SQL to find and manipulate information in relational databases.

    • Experience developing Power BI data visualizations.

    • Experience with Power BI Report builder.

    • Language skills other than English (such as Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
