    AHP DIRECTOR WASTE STREAM & SUSTAINABILITY | REMOTE

    This position provides leadership and direction for aspects of waste stream management, segregation, disposal, processing, and sustainability for AHP by working directly with member Clinical Operations, Quality, Infection Control, Nursing, Environmental Services, Facilities Maintenance, Finance, Sustainability, Safety and Environmental Health, and Pharmacy to develop, plan, organize, implement, and communicate an effective enterprise Program. This role formalizes the management and oversight necessary to organize and implement a centrally led Waste Stream and Sustainability Program and is responsible to ensure AHP/member maintains compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Additionally, this position is directly accountable for managing the budget, influencing end-users, education to process, coordination of internal and external activities, and serves as the liaison to all external suppliers, community relations, and city and state municipalities and organizations. This position serves as the point of contact to all lines of business and functions in the identification of new initiatives associated with waste and sustainability of self-operated or outsourced operations to ensure functionality and integration with the AHP/member operating environment.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Develops and implements successful strategies migrating waste stream management and sustainability practices into system-wide business model by working collaboratively with member Operations leaders, Chief Financial Officers, Facilities Leadership, Facilities Maintenance, Safety and Environmental Health, Environmental Services, Nursing, and Compliance departments.

    • Supports system development, standardization, and implementation of enterprise systems to assure software is supportive of best practices and efficiency.

    • Assist, in the identification and development of central and operating budgets to proactively manage and reduce unnecessary expenses.

    • Stays abreast of best practices, new technologies, market dynamics and trends, and acts as a subject matter expert and resource to others, advising on best practices and process improvement.

    • Works collaboratively with key stakeholders both internally and externally to implement strategies and manages projects and programs that promote best practices and achievement of corporate waste and sustainability goals.

    • This person is expected to operationalize people, processes, and technology to ensure that AHP Waste Stream and Sustainability Program delivers effectiveness, efficiency, and value for members and AHP.

    • Defines AHP Waste Stream and Sustainability program portfolio responsibilities, priorities and goals ensuring objectives are consistent with company, division, and department goals. Provides strategic and tactical guidance for all related activities based on best practices within AHP, within the healthcare industry and beyond the healthcare industry.

    • Understands the needs and requirements of members and works to ensure that these needs are met within the parameters of the AHP process and in line with corporate objectives. Develops communications and analyses for inclusion in executive level presentations. Maintains and develops relationships with key stakeholders that include client CFOs, Hospital Administrators, Supply Chain leaders, and AHP senior leadership. Effectively communicates throughout the organization, strategies and activities related to supporting program goals and objectives.

    REQUIRED

    • Masters, Supply Chain, Environmental Sustainability, Waste Management, or related field

    • Five years of healthcare operational experience in hospital operations with strong knowledge in regulatory affairs, environmental sustainability and the ability to promote an environment of safety and accountability

    PREFERRED

    • Certified Business Analysis Professional - International Institute of Business Analysis
