Accounts Payable Clerk

Description Become an imperative part of a steadily developing team at a thriving company as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. This long-term contract / temporary to hire position is offered through Robert Half. A successful Accounts Payable Clerk will match, batch, and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. Excellent communication, written and verbal are a must, as well as building relationships with vendors and other departments. Located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire opening.

Your responsibilities in this role

• Operate full-cycle A/P

• Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

• Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

• Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

• Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

• Carry out additional projects as required

• Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them

• Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time

• Help with internal and external audits as required Requirements - Expertise in Sage 100

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

• Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

• Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases
