Accounting Manager/Supervisor

Are you a talented Accounting Manager? You might be the candidate Robert Half is looking for to work with an organization that will recognize your efforts. Candidates who can lead daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, will be preferred for this position. The ability to create and monitor the company's accounting and finance operations will be essential for this role. Based in the Norfolk, Virginia area, this Accounting Manager position is a terrific opportunity for permanent employment.

How you will make an impact

• Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, which includes document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes

• Provide regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant

• Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures

• Work alongside FP& A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook

• Command sufficient knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

• Lead and encourage the full accounting team performance during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met

• Assist in the implementation of NetSuite Financials, which includes designing systems and processes, migrating data, testing, training, and administrating

Requirements - Demonstrated technology and analytical abilities

• 5+ years of recent relevant financial experience

• Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

• Customer service oriented communication skills that allow for pleasant and beneficial interactions with all customers

• Strong familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Adeptness in Payroll Tax Reporting

• Non-profit fund accounting experience highly desired

• Command of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Financial reporting experience preferred

• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

• Demonstrated knowledge of Governmental accounting

• CPA or MBA preferred
