Accountant

Description

Non-Profit, located in the Greater Wilmington Delaware area is looking to hire an Accountant with grant accounting experience. In this role, you will be responsible for compliance, budgeting, preparing federal grant packages, reviewing indirect cost, assisting with the month end close process, preparing journal entries, reconciling grants to the general ledger, assisting with invoicing, coordinating the annual audit process, and coordinating client meetings regarding financials. The ideal Accountant for this role should have excellent time management abilities, proven ERP skills, and strong US GAAP knowledge.

Major Responsibilities

• Create complex financial reports

• Resolve grant discrepancies

• Develop and follow up on grant programs

• Assist with the monthly close process

• Monitor compliance with third party federal regulations

• Account Reconciliation

• Review monthly financial statements

• Perform budget and financial analysis

• Assist with special projects

Requirements

The ideal Accountant will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.

Other requirements Accountant role include and are not limited to

• A minimum of 2+ years accounting experience

• Non-profit experience

• Abila software or QuickBooks experience a plus

• Knowledge of Contract Compliance a plus

• Excellent communication skills
