Think Outside the Box When it Comes to Your Career

Even while you are looking for a job and sending out resumes, it is important to keep up with fun hobbies and learn new skills. Not only does it enrich your mind and body, but it keeps you from being 'stuck' at any point in your life. I have friends who are becoming yoga instructors in addition to a 9-5 simply to broaden horizons and live a more full life.
I liked Jodi Sonada's article based on
Candice Walker's article, "15 College Degrees You Might Not Know Exist." The article made me realize how important it is so continue to investigate our interests and not grow complacent. For example, if you have a passion for baking, why not try some pastry courses while pursuing your first career? It can turn into a great side job and sometimes what starts as a passion grows into a career.
My best advice is to not limit yourself. If there is an online course you want to take, or a course at your local community college, go for it! You will learn something new and you might find another path. I also think it's a great idea to work at a second job you love to learn more about your hobby. You could work at a gym if you might want to become a fitness instructor or a newspaper if you are interested in becoming a writer. There are endless possibilities, even if you are happy with your career. Expand your worldview and you will not be disappointed.
