Movies in Your Mind

Posted by

A few years ago, a man came to me who ran a very successful small business. He was able to talk to individual customers easily, but when it came to speaking in front of groups, he was terrified. He asked me to help him learn how to overcome his fears of public speaking, so he could make presentations on behalf of a charitable organization. We worked together for a few months, and before long, he had overcome his fear. After he developed the skill of speaking in front of groups, he was able to speak with authority and it opened up a whole new world for him.

Part of the reason why he was able to conquer his aversion to public speaking, was, his ability to visualize successfully speaking in front of groups. In other words, on a daily basis, he saw in his mind’s eye, a movie of himself confidently communicating to a room full of people.

This technique of seeing yourself, successfully achieving any goal you have set, is vital to actually making it a reality. This technique has been used for thousands of years because it works. The reason it works so well, is because it programs your mind to subconsciously start taking the necessary action to make your goal a reality.

When done properly, using the movies in your mind can help you develop your inner mind to attract what you want in life. The reason why most people don’t use this technique is because they don’t know exactly what they want. Since they are vague and unclear with their goals, this form of mental rehearsal will not work well for them.

So, in order to use the movies in your mind to help you successfully reach your goals, be very clear on the goal you are trying to reach, see yourself achieving it in your mind’s eye on a daily basis, and then take action to make it come true.
