Losing a Customer in 10 Days

Think about how easy business would be if you didn't have to deal with the demands of customer service. You could have a hassle-free work day and might look forward to arriving at the office each day. Fortunately, it's easy to get rid of your customers for good. With minimal effort exerted by employees with horrible customer service skills, you can get rid of your pesky customers in 10 days or less.

Stop Worrying About the Details

If you really want to drive your customers away, you have to stop worrying about the small details. Customers love it when you take the time to remember their name, what type of products that they like and things that interest them, but that takes a lot of work. Taking an interest in your customers on a personal level only keeps them coming back. By building solid relationships with your customers, you risk them becoming loyal, lifetime buyers.

Don't Admit When You're Wrong

You know the old saying “the customer is always right.” If you're trying to get rid of your customers, that certainly isn't a good motto to follow. Instead, reverse it. Why should you apologize to a customer when you're in the wrong? It's your business, and you can run it however you see fit. You'll lose customers in no time if you are not attentive to their issues.

Don't Value the Customer's Time

Customer service experts think that it's important for customer service representatives to value the customer's time. If the customer had to take time out of his or her day to call your office or make an extra trip to your store, they should receive exceptional customer service and a quick resolution to the problem. However, you certainly won't lose any customers by following those rules. Besides, you're the one that’s at work — not your customer — so he shouldn't be wasting your time. If you want to get rid of your customers quickly, you need to show them that your time is more valuable than theirs. When they call your office or stop by, make them feel like they are inconveniencing you.

Don't Waste Time Training Your Customer Service Staff

If you're trying to lose customers, properly training your customer service staff is a waste of time and money. If your customers think that your company cares about or appreciates them, they may only continue to do business with you. It's a lot more cost-effective to let new employees handle issues on their own right away. This way, you can make sure the customer isn't getting good service.

Getting rid of your customers is easy. Unfortunately, if you're trying to run a successful business, it isn't the smartest thing to do. It's the pesky, know-it-all customers that keep you in business, and even an extremely successful business can't survive without excellent customer service.
