Google Gets A New Update With Knowledge Graph

Posted by

The next time you do a Google search, you might be surprised by the results. Google has given its massive search engine a new look, and in my opinion, it's one that's long overdue. No, it's not a social search feature or more ads, in fact, this new look shows the Google has been listening to it's many critics and has taken steps to get back to improving the things that they are good at.

No matter if you love or hate Google, you have to agree that the one thing that the search giant excels at is figuring out what you want to know, often times before you finish typing out the question. This is why Google will put search results that they think are the most relevant to you at the top of your search result. Now, they have launched a new search feature called Knowledge Graph.

Knowledge Graph is available for tons of common searches and it transforms the right hand side of your search results into a quick, at-a-glance list of facts about your search. For example, if you were to search Frank Lloyd Wright, Google will give you a section where there is a picture of the famous architect, major information, a snippet from the Wikipedia entry and other important facts.

Here's a look:

Of course, this Knowledge Graph is in the space where there are typically Adsense ads, but the graph is available on searches where there aren't many relevant ads anyway. Although this adds one more thing to clutter the typically clean and easy search results, it provides more information in one place than you would get with a typical Google search.

If you don't see the change right now, don't worry. The Knowledge Graph feature is being rolled out over the next week and you will be seeing it soon.
