Sterling Computers has an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified individual to become part of the team as aVMware Engineer. Applicants must possess a current TS security clearance.
Responsibilities:
In this role, theVMware Engineer (VME)will provide customers technical leadership in the installation, configuration, and implementation of VMware products and services. The VME will help document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions, and feed them into our knowledge base for best practices. Will be required to manage complex, cross-organizational programs or several related projects where the focus and deliverables are defined as the project progresses. Candidates must possess vast experience in the dynamic field of IT, with extensive knowledge in Windows system administration, VMware, ESX platform, Server virtualization and consolidation Active Directory management and other similar technologies. This position requires in-depth knowledge of virtualization, networking, routing, security, data center operation, and hardware such as servers, switches, firewalls and SANs.
Requirements:
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, Management (Masters preferred) or related field
* Hands-on experience with VMware ESX 4.1
* 3 yrs. exp. of working knowledge of backup technologies in the VM-based environment
* Strong understanding of SAN and NAS technologies, VMware Virtual Center 1.3, 2.x, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware ThinApp, VIEW and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
* Ensure the company’s information security policies are enforced
* Strong skills in integration of related technology with business and computer systems
* Experience in designing and implementing VM environments
* Knowledge with operating AD, Microsoft Exchange 2007, Citrix Xenapp 5.0 and SharePoint 2007 or above in VM-based environment is highly desirable
* The ability to perform daily health checks of the VM infrastructure; troubleshoot and resolve VM support issues
