DESCRIPTION
Senior Loan Review professional to lead on site portfolio exams, oversee work of junior professionals and provide ongoing support in overseeing credit quality of a $52 billion commercial loan and lease portfolio.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: - Ensure that Loan & Risk Review engagements are performed in a systematic, disciplined approach and with proficiency and professional care - Ensure effective on-going monitoring to identify credit risk on a pro active basis and assign appropriate risk rating as well as suggest corrective steps - Ensure Loan & Risk Review team members possess the knowledge, skills and other competencies needed to perform their individual responsibilities - Assist the Head of Loan & Risk Review in preparing a comprehensive, long range Loan Review plan for the department, prioritizing the credit audit assignments based on risk assessment - Keep Head of Loan & Risk Review abreast of trends in portfolio quality and risk profile - Evaluate the adequacy of the credit management process including portfolio planning, credit assessment, credit approval process, organization and staffing, risk recognition, credit administration, and other credit related controls - Ensure compliance with CIT?s credit policies & procedures, federal regulatory guidelines and any other laws and regulations - Maintain an up to date awareness of the latest techniques and professional audit standards - Advance preparation/planning for the engagement including sample selection and communication with Business Units - Leading team in the field, including providing direction on areas of focus, identifying issues, resolving conflicts - Writing Reports and Communicating/presenting findings to Senior Level Management
REQUIRED SKILLS
Requirements: - Knowledge of standard Loan Review practices for regulated financial institutions - Commercial Credit Underwriting practices across a broad range of industries, including leveraged cash flow or broadly syndicated transactions - Knowledge of regulatory loan classification criteria, preferably in a Shared National Credit environment - Willing to travel (up to 50%) - Supervision and managerial skills - Analysis and planning skills - Leadership and organizational skills - Interpersonal / Communication skills, including strong presentation skills. - 4 year degree in a business related field (e.g. Finance, Economics) - CPA, CFA or MBA preferable but not required - Minimum 10 years experience in credit review of corporate portfolios at a regulated institution, including 3 years in a senior position
