Title: Vice President, Audit Manager - Asia Regional Asset Management Team Lead Location: CHN-Hong Kong-Hong Kong The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators. The global Audit Department has in excess of 500 Audit Officers. The Global Asset Management Audit Team is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environments across both the Investment Management and Private Banking businesses. This is achieved through a program of audit coverage which is performed and managed by a global team of integrated financial business and technology specialists. The Audit department in Asia has an onsite presence in 7 locations, namely Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, India, Australia and Manila. Position Description This role is for an experienced audit manager to join the Asset Management Asia Audit Team. The role is based in Hong Kong reporting to the Asset Management Regional Manager. Qualified candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of 7 auditors in Hong Kong and Tokyo. Applicant will be expected to lead a team of auditors in the Asia region responsible for managing client coverage and executing audits across the Investment Management and Private Bank businesses. As a VP and regional team lead, you will have responsibility for driving and ensuring the effectiveness of the audit coverage. Working with the global line of business auditors you will identify trends impacting the area under review, strategically assess the risk and effectiveness of audit coverage, and influence the broader risk control agenda. The applicant must be an experienced professional who possesses strong auditing skills, good knowledge of financial instruments, risk concepts, and a strong understanding of internal control systems within a financial institution. This includes a working knowledge of investment management and/or private bank business activities. Good knowledge of accounting concepts and Finance controls is considered a plus. This individual should be a strong team player, able to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic business environment.
Responsibilities * Self motivated audit professional who effectively analyses risk and proactively identifies issues. * Ensure audits are performed in accordance with department and professional standards in an efficient manner with attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of coverage. * Partner with the regional and global leads to strategically assess the audit plan and successfully execute the plan providing risk focused audit coverage. * Lead multiple audit projects and teams on various audit engagements * Actively coach team members * Coordinate coverage with regulators and PwC in the Asia as appropriate. * Partner with the Asia business management and other control groups (risk management, finance, fraud prevention and investigation, legal, etc.) establishing strong work relationships, whilst maintaining independence. * Establish a business climate and culture that encourages integrity, respect, excellence and innovation. The position may require up to 20% travel. Experience/Essential skills Candidate should possess a minimum of 8 years of financial services industry experience with exposure to investment management and/or private banking. * Strong auditing skills or knowledge of the risk and control function is required. * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Experience in managing or supervising others * Ability to act independently with minimum direction and supervision - Ability to carry out complex tasks under considerable time pressure, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Flexible to set individual goals and objectives to be consistent with those of the Audit department * Have a good understanding of the location regulatory requirements will be a plus Language Fluent English - both verbal and written communication Mandarin a plus
