Unclaimed Property Accountant 4
Leads the implementation of new internal controls and processes for Unclaimed Property to ensure system integrity and compliance with accounting system and Company requirements and guidelines. Identifies and resolves accounting system issues related to Unclaimed Property requiring creative solutions. Leads and guides the development and deployment of new accounting systems and tools. Reviews, analyzes and interprets Company directives, policies and regulatory requirements to guide, direct and recommend overall accounting policy and practices. Establishes, monitors, maintains and reviews internal control systems and documentation for compliance. Gathers, analyzes, interprets, prepares and reconciles complex financial information to support the preparation of financial statements. Reviews and analyzes unusual contract terms, conditions and accounting source documents to ensure that complex transactions are correctly classified. Develops and prepares internal and external financial reports for management. Serves as a subject matter expert and training resource for accounting systems and processes. Surfaces Unclaimed Property issues and leads process improvement initiatives. Consults with and advises management, other organizations, customers and auditors regarding accounting policy and classification practices. Works under minimal direction.

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Job related information
Oversee preparation of unclaimed property filings and reports, interpret regulations and accounting policy to determine appropriate treatment of potentially unclaimed items, support unclaimed property audits, implement and maintain risk mitigation strategies for Enterprise Payment Services Unclaimed Property Compliance, provide unclaimed property compliance training, oversee recovery of Boeing property. Experience in Tracker Compliance software preferred, statutory Accounting experience preferred.
