Description
Trading Operations Analyst Operations and Administration (O&A) is responsible for the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. O&A establishes and coordinates operational procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, prime brokers, broker-dealers and other vendors and is responsible for managing BlackRock's broker-dealer and custodian bank relationships. The Trade Confirmation Team is responsible for the affirmation, confirmation and settlement of transactions with counterparties and custodians. General functions include the research and resolution of exceptions and DK’s, communication of trade details and allocations to counterparties, custodians and fund accountants, and processing of TBA allocations. Day to day management of dealer and custody relationships is a key focus as well as fostering globally consistent trade confirmation and processing, enhancing operational control and reporting, eliminating risk and servicing internal and external constituents to re-affirm expectations and deliver superior client service. We are seeking a modestly experienced professional (3+ years) who wants to take the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong operational background and the ability to multi-task. This ideal individual will be someone with working knowledge of the trade confirmation and settlement processes, and has supervisory and management experience as well proven leadership abilities. Responsibilities: • Confirm and affirm transactions with counterparties across all product sectors. • Route trade details/ portfolio allocations & receive written or electronic trade confirmation from counterparties daily. • Process MBS TBA pool allocations. • Coordinate with dealer community on STP efforts to further automate confirmation process. • Resolve DK’s, fails and exceptions. Skills and Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree in Finance or similar concentration required. • Understanding of financial markets and related instruments. • Solid working knowledge and understanding of trade processing and settlement processes and systems. • Team player with excellent attention to detail, problem solving / analytical abilities, research skills and willingness to learn. • PC proficient with experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and various Investment Management and treading platforms, e.g. Aladdin.
