Job description

As an Associate Partner (AP) in the Communications Sector team, you will be expected to lead or support complex technology strategy (TS) projects, both in competitive sales proposal situations and on client engagements, for media and entertainment clients, with the potential to support other communications sector industries. You will provide a flexible framework to create sustainable profit improvements that help clients design and implement high-performance IT organizations aligned with business objectives, and achieve operational excellence by adapting best-in-class IT infrastructure and applications.

Engagements typically involve infrastructure and application analysis, and process and organizational change initiatives in the Media & Entertainment industry, with clients such as Disney, Time Warner, McGraw-Hill, and other similar companies. Specifically we help drive business value from new technology, design enterprise architectures and I/T roadmaps, conduct portfolio analysis and create I/T business cases. In particular, experience and ability to discuss about key industry topics, such as digital content management, digital media strategies, royalties, etc, and the impact these topics have on technology demands for client organizations is crucial. This role involves gathering facts, analyzing the client's business, drawing conclusions, and reporting upon that work.

Proficiency in developing client relationships, identifying & closing new business, & developing thought leadership in TS are required. This is a hands-on sales & delivery role in a complex environment. Responsibilities include providing advice & counsel to clients, oversight & accountability for delivery success, and client satisfaction.

The AP will:

  • Provide client and  team leadership in support of projects that span technical, process or organizational integration, as well as in support of sales efforts for new and future work
  • Bring in-depth experience and credibility from the media & entertainment industry, spanning print, broadcast, music, studio, entertainment, cable, internet and related companies
  • Provide specific recommendations on infrastructure improvement, application rationalization, software selection, organizational design, and process and governance changes
  • Support the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts in support of an identified sales target;
  • Provide TS guidance, strategies, and best practices;
  • Provide guidance in one or more of the following industries: media & entertainment, telecommunications, or energy & utilities
  • Maintain TS references, approaches, and  contacts;
  • Lead or contribute to the creation of positions on specific TS topics;
  • Define, develop and use repeatable consulting TS solutions; and,
  • Transfer knowledge to local teams through training and side-by-side engagement work.



This position requires travel 4-5 days per week.

Locations: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Kansas City, LA, Miami, NYC, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or Wash DC. NYC metro-area is strongly preferred work location.

 

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 5 years experience in selling Technology Strategy and IT Performance Management engagements to CXO level clients
  • At least 5 years experience in the following: IT strategy, IT organization change, IT governance, enterprise architecture, application rationalization, software selection, IT performance management, and IT cost reduction
  • At least 5 years experience in leading engagements that deliver complex IT strategy projects and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with senior executives
  • At least 5 years experience in demonstrating analytical skills with proficiency in fundamental consulting and IT strategy tools, methods, and frameworks
  • At least 5 years experience in understanding current technology trends and their impact on business strategy
  • At least 5 years experience in the Media and Entertainment industry with near-exclusive focus in this area
  • At least 5 years experience in developing executive level relationships, with prior experience in the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts
  • At least 5 years experience in guiding and facilitating executive level business decisions and performing business analysis such as quantitative/qualitative analysis, business case development, operations analysis, and/or other solutions
  • Readiness to travel Up to 5 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • English: Fluent

 

Preferred

  • Master's Degree
  • At least 10 years experience in selling Technology Strategy and IT Performance Management engagements to CXO level clients
  • At least 10 years experience in the following: IT strategy, IT organization change, IT governance, enterprise architecture, application rationalization, software selection, IT performance management, and IT cost reduction
  • At least 10 years experience in leading engagements that deliver complex IT strategy projects and initiatives with tangible results, working across organizational boundaries, and interfacing with senior executives
  • At least 10 years experience in demonstrating analytical skills with proficiency in fundamental consulting and IT strategy tools, methods, and frameworks
  • At least 10 years experience in understanding current technology trends and their impact on business strategy
  • At least 10 years experience in the Media and Entertainment industry with near-exclusive focus in this area
  • At least 10 years experience in developing executive level relationships, with prior experience in the identification, development, and closure of sales efforts
  • At least 10 years experience in guiding and facilitating executive level business decisions and performing business analysis such as quantitative/qualitative analysis, business case development, operations analysis, and/or other solutions
  • At least 5 years experience in strategy consulting (with strong preference for previous experience at major national consultancy)
