Tax Staff Accountant – Tax Planning and Compliance

The primary responsibility of the position is to plan and implement tax planning ideas.
Calculate the quarterly and annual tax, liability, and provisions under FAS 109
Implement policies and procedures for the income tax accounting process
Coordinate the preparation of the tax footnote and tax disclosures for the financial statements of this publicly traded company
Provide assistance for all income tax matters relating to earnings and SEC filings
Maintain deferred tax balances and tax basis balance sheets
Maintain accounting for FIN 48 liabilities and valuation allowances
Prepare tax entries associated with FAS 123R
Monitor current developments relating to tax accounting and implement new procedures as appropriate
Work closely with other members of the tax department on various special projects on an on-going basis
Minimum of five years tax experience either in a public accounting firm or corporate environment
CPA and/or Masters in Tax
US Federal income tax experience, including FAS 109 and exposure to FIN 48 and FAS 123R
Strong accounting and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of accounting of foreign taxes is a plus
