Tax Director - Tax Projects Delivery Group (Fixed Assets)
At a time when many companies are looking to strengthen their balance sheets and get back to basics, the twin issues of currency and accuracy come to the fore. Many of the key operations of a tax department managing fixed assets, property tax, inventory and/or tax credits can be enormously time-consuming and complex, not to mention frequently scrutinized by state and federal authorities. In addition, newer developments such as FIN 48 and the advent of IFRS have highlighted the importance of maintaining adequate documentation to support your position.
PwC's Tax Projects Delivery Group (TPDG) works with clients on large tax engagements which require a team of specialists with deep tax technical knowledge and experience in key federal tax areas. We can help your company identify permanent cash tax savings and refund opportunities, consider the impact of deductions and credits on your effective tax rate, and apply established methodologies and processes to complex areas of taxation, helping ensure consistency year over year. Our key service areas include:
- Research & Development Credit Services - Fixed Asset & Repairs - Accounting Methods - Like-kind Exchange - Transaction Services - Meals & Entertainment
Knowledge Preferred:
Extensive knowledge of fixed asset depreciation schedules and the ability to properly apply recovery periods for different types of property.
Thorough knowledge of identifying between personal and real property and applying the appropriate depreciation schedules for each type.
Considerable knowledge of Form 3115; an application for Change of Accounting Methods.
Skills Preferred:
Extensive technical skills with Accelerated Cost Recovery Systems (ACRS) and Modified Accelerated Cost Recovery Systems (MACRS).
Thorough experience identifying and addressing client needs: developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities; preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection.
Thorough experience as a team leader: leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction and motivate members, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.
Considerable skills in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.
