Our client, a leading NYC based Financial Services firm seeks Tax Analyst. Main Duties: * Timely preparation of corporate/ partnership federal and state tax returns in a complete and accurate manner, including the preparation of the related tax work papers that are well organized and fully documented* Timely preparation of extensions and quarterly tax estimates* Assist with computing the quarterly and annual tax provision* Research basic tax issues and support a variety of tax related special projects* Assist with tax planning and strategies implementation, including transaction support* Prepare tax memorandum, as needed* Prepare responses to tax return notices* Assist in the preparation of tax projections, budgeting and forecasting* Assist with developing and streamlining procedures and worksheets for use in preparation of tax returns and other analyses, as neededThe successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * A Bachelor's degree in Accounting* A Master's degree in Taxation will be a plus* Certified Public Accountant license is preferred* 3-5 years of related work experience in either a public accounting firm or a private tax department* A thorough understanding of Federal and State Income Taxation and the compliance process with respect to corporate consolidated returns and partnerships* Should be self-motivated and possess strong accounting, analytical, and advanced PC skills* Understanding of 'Accounting for Income Taxes - FAS 109 and the tax provision process* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiar with tax compliance software (OneSource)* Willingness to learn tax regulations and compliance* Self-starter, able to manage time, handle heavy workloads and effectively meet deadlines* Organized, detail-oriented, committed, conscientious, ability to multi-task* Must be able to solve problems, as well as identify issues and suggest solutions* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills* Demonstrate ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment
