Tax Analyst, Mutual Funds

Our client is seeking a Tax Analyst - Mutual Fund Reporting & Compliance in its tax function. Ideal financial services professional will have significant mutual fund compliance and reporting experience, along with some knowledge of real estate, partnership and private equity investments by exempt investors.

This position will report directly to the Manager – Mutual Fund Reporting & Compliance, will interact with the mutual funds team and will work with third-party service providers. A successful candidate will have a strong US technical tax background, project management skills and the vision to leverage technology and resources. This position provides the opportunity for growth within a world class tax organization.

Responsibilities:

Regulated Investment Company qualification and compliance
• Assist in year-end shareholder reporting process
• Calculation and review of annual income tax provisions and associated financial statement disclosures, book/tax adjustments, tax return workpapers, mutual fund excise tax calculations and applicable federal and state income tax returns and excise tax returns
• Preparation and review of tax filings
• Works with Manager – Mutual Funds to review and improve documentation of all mutual fund processes and freshly review all practices with outside service providers
• Take part in preparation and review of corporate and partnership tax returns
• Prepare tax projections and analysis through data accumulation and summarization projects, including monitoring the annual receipt of over 400 Schedule K–1s
• Prepare certain corporate and partnership returns

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or similar discipline from accredited college or university and minimum 4 years Public Accounting experience
• CPA highly desirable
• Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented;
• Willingness and enthusiasm for team-oriented work as well as continuous learning and personal growth within the organization
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Power Point
• Financial services experience (accounting/auditing exposure) preferred
