Department - Information Technology
Job Summary The Systems Administrator II is responsible for managing and supporting the corporate Windows infrastructure, along with various network & application-based systems and structures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities .Understands and demonstrates the principals of the Company's Mission, Vision and Values.
.Install hardware including setup and troubleshooting, along with server builds, configuration, remote management and support applications associated with the Microsoft/SQL/Terminal Server/VMware/web hosted applications environment.
.Provide service that includes, but may not be limited to the following: Active Directory, File and Print sharing, Application server support, Client-side OS support, Email services, Security and Spyware protection services, Virus protection, Firewall configuration, & Backup and Recovery service.
.Perform engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance projects and 24x7 support for hardware, operating systems and applications associated with the Microsoft/SQL/Terminal Server/VMware/web hosted applications environment.
.Support and maintain Microsoft operating platforms in an active directory domain environment; Coordinate activities with vendors and outside consultants to provide support for the operating systems.
.Perform technical tasks related to the installation and maintenance of systems software products.
.Design consistent network-wide file system, storage layouts, and RAID, LUN storage groups in an enterprise server environment.
.Supply specifications for, and recommend the purchase of, required hardware and software to support any new or growing infrastructure applications (enterprise backup, document imaging, database and reporting, electronic mail, electronic FAX, encryption technologies, etc)
.Manage EMC SAN arrays and VMware virtualization solutions.
.Develop disaster recovery plans and capacity plans.
.Assist in projects as assigned by IT management.
.Comply with policies and procedures as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities .Education: Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science or related experience.
.Experience: Minimum three years experience with network troubleshooting and working with a high level system's administration, five years preferred. Minimum three years experience at sites with more than 1,000 computers/users and working with terabytes of disk space as well as working in a SAN environment. Preferred experience with EMC CLARiiON and Symmetrix arrays.
.Language/Communication/Interpersonal: Ability to read, write and speak fluent English. Extensive knowledge of applicable administrative language (Tk, Perl, a shell, etc). Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with all internal and external customers. Good presentation and facilitation skills.
.Analytical: Intensive analytical skills necessary to comprehend real time production server performance along with maintaining best practices of server functionality.
.Technical: Comprehension of networking/distributed computing environment concepts. Thorough understanding of multiple production servers in a SAN storage environment. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft-based servers and performance. Ability to install and maintain network cabling for data center and boards and memory into systems.
.Leadership: N/A
.Other: Ability to implement and maintain a proactive support environment with Windows configurations on server support.
Certificates/Licenses: .Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred. .Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) preferred .VMWare Certified professional preferred
Work Environment Clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated office area and computer room.

Other Work Requirements Evenings and weekends hours may be required. Travel up to 25% may be required.
