System Controller Department: Financial Accounting Schedule:Full-timeShift:Hours:Job Details:- Bachelor Degree req. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master's Degree preferred. CPA and FHFMA strongly preferred but not required. Must have 5- 7 years of progressively more responsible experience in financial management including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, auditing, etc., preferably in a healthcare environment. Previous public accounting experience is a plus. System Controller owns the financial statements of all St. Vincent's HealthCare hospital entities. Responsible for the integrity of all hospital financial data, timeliness and accuracy of hospital financial data, and maintenance of standards of no audit adjustments and clean quarterly disclosures to Ascension Health. Gains and maintains comprehensive knowledge of all business relationships, activities and transactions that affect hospital financial data. Ensures that hospital financial systems correctly capture, maintain and report financial data. Coordinates activities with System Director of Finance and Directors of Affiliate Accounting and Physician Accounting to ensure the financial statements of St. Vincent's HealthCare accurately and fairly represent the financial results and position of the health system. A high level of analytical ability is required in order to assist in planning, directing and controlling the activities of the Finance Department. Extensive interpersonal skills are necessary to interact effectively and efficiently with management, staff, the public, external auditors and other agencies.
