Strategic Planning Manager 2
Responsible for establishing division objectives, coordinating business planning, the development of long range strategic plans and identification and analysis of business opportunities. Duties may include: evaluating merger & acquisition targets or third party opportunities; proposing and reviewing product line or service changes or expansions; cost/utilization or efficiency studies; monitoring economic, business and political trends to determine potential business impact; coordinating the collection of research and departmental plans and integrating into division-wide recommendations. Serves as an information resource to executive and senior level management. Directs internal as well as industry strategic planning activities and represents Wells Fargo on Industry boards and committees. Manages a staff typically consisting of strategy consultants, project managers and/or other professional staff.
Basic Qualifications: 7+ years strategic planning and 3+ years management experience.
Minimum Qualifications: This collaborative leader must be capable of initiating action and managing change. The role demands a persuasive, effective communicator who can position WFA competitively. It requires a strong project manager with influencing skills. Experience developing and managing a large, multi-faceted portfolio or strategic initiatives will position a candidate for success. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement. The successful candidate will possess the following:
Minimum Requirements: 5-8 years of direct, relevant and recent strategic planning experience in a large and complex financial services organization. Documented success in assembling teams and executing strategic initiatives through matrix and/or shared resources. Undergraduate Degree in Business or a related field. Proven strong project management skills. Demonstrated advanced analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to hire, develop and manage senior strategy professionals. Proven effectiveness in working with and influencing executive management across multiple lines of business.
Preferred Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of the retail brokerage industry and demonstrated understanding of the Financial Advisor experience. 5+ years of experience with a large and complex consulting organization. 5+ years of business line management. MBA or related advanced degree preferred
