The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing work requiring the application, concepts, practices and terminology of accounting. This position is responsible for analyzing data, financial report preparation and performing bank account reconciliations and maintaining GL account-reconciliation schedules. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Make independent and informed accounting decisions based upon company policies and perform these functions in the accounting system. This position is responsible for communication and interaction with managers, staff, and external parties. Maintains and helps produce monthly financial/operations reports as required. Collect various accounting data necessary to prepare and enter journal entries into the financial accounting system. Assists in preparing and posting journal entries, correcting entries and year-end closing entries. Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations Maintaining general ledger account reconciliation-schedules up-to-date. Assists in preparing accounting records and reports for all levels of management. Assists with year-end annual accounting audit to include assisting with preparation of audit schedules, financial reports and statistical data related to the annual audit. Contributes to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities. This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties assigned to maintain operations and services. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in a business related field and prior accounting experience required Must be knowledgeable in accounting software packages, SAP preferred Must be strong Excel user and proficient in Word and Access software applications We are an equal opportunity employer.
