Kemper Home Service Companies, a Division of Kemper Corporation, has an exciting job opportunity in our Financial Reporting department. We are looking for candidates to fill a Staff Accountant II s position is responsible for the completion of closing journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting package schedules. Responsibilities: • Complete closing journal entries in a timely and accurate manner to meet reporting deadlines. • Create non-standard closing entries as needed; research and explain all journal entry fluxes. • Prepare quarterly and annual statement schedules and exhibits; insure that supporting Oracle reports or other supporting paperwork is complete and accurate. • Complete account reconciliations by due date; research any reconciling items. • Prepare correcting entries in the following reporting period and resolve all reconciling items; complete reporting package schedule as assigned. • Perform and run specific accounting processes such as fixed asset or cost allocation procedures. • Assist in or serve as resource for statutory filings both during annual statement preparation period and throughout the year. • Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly statement statutory filings both during annual statement period and throughout the year. Job Requirements :
Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; 1-3 years general account experience. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Knowledge and utilization of two standards of accounting-GAAP & STAT
