Sr. Project Manager

Position Description
As part of the Solution Delivery organization, the Project Manager is responsible for delivering quality software enhancement projects to internal and external customers by understanding product strategy and customer needs, developing business requirements, and supporting product development and deployment.

For small development projects and/or with the mentorship of a more senior team member, the Project Manager provides leadership and support to business and system partners through requirements gathering, business acceptance testing, and release management. There is joint responsibility with the lead systems manager to provide technical oversight to ensure business requirements are met, develop and monitor project plans, monitor budgets, align resources, and manage change. Additionally, the small development Project Manager implements, drives, and refines best practices and processes to ensure continuous improvement of the small development process.

Primary Responsibilities
* Responsible for the management of overall project budget, schedule, and scope of multiple projects of small size and shorter duration and generally small to medium sized stakeholder groups.
* Understanding of the Project Lifecycle and accountable for the results of all applicable Project Life Cycle deliverables: Project Initiation Documentation, Business Requirements Document (BRD), Issues List, Business Acceptance Testing (BAT), Rollout / Deployment (Transition/TRA).
* Participates in the review of: Systems Prospectus (Systems Requirements Analysis-SRA), Communication Plans, Business Readiness Documents and Checklists, Systems Delivery Specs (SDS).
* Leadership role for identifying and influencing stakeholders on all issues related to the project.
* Leads planning and rollout development of project plans. Partners with the business community to provide internal and external rollout strategy to ensure business communication needs are met, coordinate review of internal and external communications.
* Drives team towards the development and completion of all critical project documents according to defined processes, leveraging Fidelity standard small development methodologies.
* Gather project details from business community and present to business sponsors for ranking.
* Partner with Systems managers to identify available resources and activate projects.
*
This role has broad problem solving authority in support of the delivery of new and enhanced PWI products and projects.
*
Problem solving may be required in the areas of resource allocation; both within the Solution Delivery Group and with cross functional business partners, project delivery timelines, and creatively meeting or exceeding requirements.

Education and Experience
* 3-5 years of related project management experience in financial services, systems development, product development, and/or project/product management.
* Business analysis experience required.
* BA/MBA, Institutional and/or Benefits Outsourcing experience preferred.
Skills and Knowledge
* Ability to successfully manage many small projects simultaneously with a high degree of customer service, accuracy, communication, and quality
* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence effectively at most levels of management and peers.
* Solid technical background to facilitate communications with systems teams
* Experience influencing / collaborating in a large matrix-managed environment, and across multiple and diverse groups.
* Solid understanding of one or more lines of business, supporting organizations.
* Strong listening, communications and analytical skills.
* Critical thinker with good judgment and initiative.
* Strong project management skills demonstrated for medium sized business or technically oriented projects.
* Diversity of functional business experiences (e.g. client, operational, systems, marketing, investments, and customer service).
* Strong understanding of the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Methodology.
