Job Description
This role is responsible for overhead spending management of all Manufacturing Operations and functional support groups located in Westlake Village, including Westlake Village facilities. This position is responsible for forecasting accuracy and to work closely with cost center managers and department leads; such as: VP Mfg, VP Quality, VP Supply Chain & VP IT. Additional responsibilities include support of the purchasing organization, specifically related to VIP validation and spend reduction opportunity identification. The focus of this role is spending planning & reporting, variance analysis and to identify areas of opportunity for reduction and/or efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Time Spent Major Responsibilities / Activities
20% Consolidate monthly results and prepare financial analysis/reports
20% Purchasing Support on VIP's (savings project validation) and Indirect spending reporting
20% Monitor and validate Global spending data from BioVision system for USGS OCOS;
Ensure critical cost center attributes are properly maintained and updated in COGNOS
15% Processing monthly accruals and journal entries related to month end close,
Provide required financial reports, support budget/forecast activities.
15% Participate in Functional Group staff meetings when necessary, provide financial update to functional support groups and relay critical financial information
10% Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
•Self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.
•Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
•Strong technical and financial knowledge, including understanding of internal control requirements and accounting principles as well as understanding of relevant business environment.
•Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally.
•Working knowledge of PC applications (ie. Excel/Access).
•Strong analytical skills with familiarity with accounting, financial analysis and reporting.
•Detail oriented.
•Ability to manage tasks concurrently
•Owns career and is accountable for managing own development. Key Finance Competencies:

•Business Performance Management
•Accounting and Reporting Integrity Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or country equivalent). Demonstration of key finance competencies and qualifications and typically 4 + years of relevant experience with financial planning and reporting.
