Position Description
This position will report to the Finance Manager supporting Business Development, Marketing and International. Primary purposes will be to provide analytical support for sector performance on revenue & commercial strategies and business development support for the Surgical Technologies sector (includes the ENT, Neuro Technologies and Navigation business units) on potential acquisitions, divestitures, licensing and distribution opportunities. Additional responsibilities will be to support the commercial organization functions of marketing and sales with budgeting, expense management, AOP and Strategic Plan development, and other financial analyses.
Position Responsibilities
Prepare monthly Core Product scorecard. Prepare monthly Commercial Strategies scorecard. Support business development with NPV, IRR and EPS dilution/accretion analysis. Modeling of opportunities with sensitivity analysis. Modeling of various budget scenarios and target growth ranges. Planning, forecasting and expense management of the marketing function. Monitor monthly actual spending and run variance analyses. Support annual AOP and Strategic Plan activities. Analyze profitability of major product lines. Presentation development support for business reviews. Provide ad hoc analysis as requested. Complies with the Medtronic Xomed Quality System.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 4 - 7 years experience with a Bachelors degree or 2 - 5 years with a Masters degree. Must have experience in financial analysis & modeling, familiarity with accounting rules and procedures, sales reporting, and have experience using a mid-level accounting system.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Excellent technical and analytical accounting skills. Must be flexible and adaptable; must demonstrate good judgment, tact, discretion, and diplomacy in decision-making authority. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, have excellent communication skills, be able to handle multiple tasks and have effective time management skills. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, including accuracy in record keeping and correspondence. Must be able to handle confidential information. Advanced Excel skills and experience with Word, Access, Outlook, & PowerPoint. Familiarity with Hyperion & business query tool such as Business Objects is a plus.
