ATK Defense Electronics Systems, a division of Missile Products Group is seeking a strong and very well demonstrated finance professional for our Woodland Hills, CA location. In this challenging and exciting role, the Sr. Financial Planning & Reporting Analyst will be a key member of the Divisions Financial Planning and Reporting team. This individual will add significant value to our organization by playing a key role in our financial planning and reporting efforts.
Job Summary
* Support the preparation of monthly operational review packages; * Analyze monthly product profitability reports and its consistency with the targets; * Provide monthly analysis and variance explanations of results vs. plan for internal management; * Support the preparation of strategic and annual long-range plan reviews; * Prepare variance explanations of revenue and spending to plan on a monthly basis; * Assist with financial reporting of Division performance for executive management; * Investigate deviations from plan and unusual results; * Develop and maintain business trend information; * Implement continuous improvements across the Divisions operating expenses; * Support the Divisions quarterly and annual external filing Requirements; * Perform special finance/accounting projects as required; * The key individual must have a strong knowledge / understanding of best practice for financial planning methodologies, techniques and tools; * Have ability to translate, present, and communicate complicated financial information into understandable and executable strategic plans; * The individual must be organized with excellent communication skills, strategically focused, detail oriented, and have ability to effortlessly multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
Qualifications, Education and Duties
Required:
* Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or Finance; CPA with Public Accounting experience; * Minimum 4 years extensive financial analysis experience; * Strong accounting, financial planning and government accounting background; * Demonstrated high analytical and communication capabilities; * Outstanding PC skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; * Excellent communication skills and experience in working and coordinating with business units; * Very precise and accurate working style; * Must possess a can do attitude, be creative & flexible; * Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a clearance;
Highly Desired:
MBA
Desired: Work experience in defense & space industry; Experience with Access, Hyperion, Oracle, Costpoint and BMP.
