Position Description
Responsible for financial close, account reconciliations, period reporting, annual budgeting, forecasting, Sarbanes Oxley compliance testing, ad hoc reporting and business analysis. Provides financial analysis & reporting, business and cost accounting support for warranty/field action activities and manufacturing overhead absorption. Participates in the day-to-day cost accounting and month-end close process as required. Supports Operations Management with variance analysis, ad-hoc requests, and business decision support.
Position Responsibilities
1. Compile and analyze financial information o Provide management analysis of major issues / trends o Address management questions and requests o Reserve analysis o Data evaluation and interpretation 2. Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial close activities o Prepare journal entries o Adherence to GAAP principles o Prepare monthly income statement and reports o Account reconciliations o Variance analysis 3. Financial modeling and forecasting o Support annual planning and quarterly forecast processes o Financial modeling o Ad hoc analysis 4. Cost accounting support o Standard cost calculations o Warranty and field action analysis, forecasting, accruals and reserves o Analyze and forecast manufacturing overhead absorption 5. System expertise and solution support o Product costing model o Purchasing & inventory control o Work center maintenance o Purchasing support 6. Project accounting o Interdepartmental coordination o Scope and projections o Implementation o Reporting 7. Related duties as required
Basic Qualifications
BA or BS, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting 7 years cost accounting and financial analysis experience in a Manufacturing environment. Experience utilizing cost accounting functions within a major ERP system Familiarity with cost accounting principles, particularly warranty accounting Strong analytical skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with interest in building strong business partnering relationships; high integrity and self-confidence.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA preferred Familiarity with SAP, MFG/Pro, Microsoft Excel, Cognos/CorVu or similar tools Experience in a high technology or medical device manufacturing environment
