Position Description
Perform quantitative analysis to forecast financial performance and then partner with business leaders to manage the business to meet those expectations. Provide financial analysis to support management decisions.
Position Responsibilities
Lead the development of cost center and project-level spending plans. Partner with business leaders to ensure that they understand the financial drivers inherent in those plans. Analyze actual vs. forecast performance, with an emphasis on understanding and communicating how the company will meet its financial commitments. Clearly and concisely communicate expected and actual financial results and the activities underlying those results. Use a thorough understanding of GAAP and finance theory to help business partners understand the financial implications of potential business decisions. Identify, analyze, communicate and provide suggested solutions to resolve financial issues which impact business objectives. Evaluate the net present value and other operating metrics for capital investments in product development and other sources of growth. Leverage information systems to increase efficiency and effectiveness of forecasting and analysis. Participate in monthly and quarterly closing activities to ensure reported costs are stated in accordance with GAAP and are available on a timely and consistent basis.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 6 years work experience, with minimum 4 years experience as a Financial Analyst. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have solid proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Must have experience using SAP. Must have experience with financial modeling (NPV, IRR, business plans, etc.)
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree from a leading MBA program is strongly preferred, ideally with a CPA or comparable experience as a financial analyst. Experience with Hyperion. Experience in fast-paced, high-growth medical device or pharmaceutical corporation Experience providing financial and analytical support to an R&D organization or function Ability to organize, interpret, and draw appropriate conclusions from large volumes of data and to creatively present the information in a manner that enables non-financial managers to easily understand the information High attention to detail and accuracy Excellent prioritization and organizational skills. Enthusiastic attitude in a team environment and ability to work independently Demonstrated success communicating at all levels of the organization.
