Summary of role
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for planning & analysis for the Blockbuster store business and will provide financial analysis and business modeling support or strategic initiatives. The individual will be responsible for analyzing performance trends, modeling complex business decisions, and tracking the performance of test concepts.
Essential Responsibilities
* Create financial models to quantify the impact of strategic initiatives * Measure the performance of key programs to evaluate opportunities and assess the effectiveness * Summarize and present business results to senior management * Assist with the preparation of monthly business reviews and quarterly board presentations * Analyze and prepare monthly and quarterly P&L forecasts * Support internal business partners and participate on cross functional teams * Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to facilitate executive decision making
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/ Skills
* Strong analytical and quantitative abilities * Experience in retailing highly preferable, but not required * Intellectual curiosity with an ability to draw insights and think outside the box * Ambitious with the desire to make a difference in the organization * Ability to communicate clearly and comfortable presenting to senior management * Effective at balancing multiple priorities and meet deadlines * Advanced in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
Education/Experience
* 4 year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
* 3 to 5 years experience preferable in financial analysis, strategic planning or budgeting and forecasting
