Sr. Finance Manager Accounting Policy

Amazon seeks an Accounting Policy and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Project Senior Manager responsible for the following:

• Evaluate impact of current convergence projects and potential IFRS adoption


• Act as project manager for IFRS adoption


• Managing the process to comprehensively evaluate, document and communicate the conclusions reached on the US GAAP and IFRS treatment of business events and transactions


• Serving as subject matter expert with respect to accounting and financial reporting issues


• Overseeing statutory reporting process


• Managing the quarterly review and annual audit processes

This position reports to the Director of Accounting Policy and will provide the opportunity for broad exposure within Amazon.  Additionally, this position will also partner with the accounting group to support multiple simultaneous new business project launches and assist the teams to identify reporting, controls and processes that would be required to support financial reporting.   This person will be expected to take ownership, identify process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls, and drive positive change across the organization.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree required, MBA or CPA preferred


• 7 years of relevant accounting experience with international accounting policies


• Mix of public and private industry experience preferred


• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead complex, milestone driven projects


• Strong desire to exceed expectations, effective interpersonal skills, strong writing skills, and persuasive oral communication skills, solid organizational, risk assessment and some information technology aptitude
