Battelle is a world leader in science and technology research. Battelle's Software Information Engineering (SIE) product line specializes in supporting Defense Logistics Information Service in Battle Creek, Michigan. We are currently seeking a full time Sr. Customer Support Specialist. This position is located at the Defense Logistics Information Service in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The Sr. Customer Support Specialist's responsibilities include:
· Provide subject matter expert level assistance to vendors and federal partners engaged in DLA Business.
· Be an integral part of the Battelle contractor team working at the US Government's Battle Creek facility executing a user support function for a government IT system and process.
· The Battelle team is the resource for resolution of any application problems they encounter for DLA/DoD/Federal IT systems that implement the associated government business process.
· The team is required to understand the various registration processes and associated eligibility rules and knows how those processes are implemented in the IT systems, work in the systems to determine problems and issues, and correct system entries to resolve the problems.
· Entering and managing data via websites and/or application tools.
· Provide subject matter expert level assistance to vendors and federal partners.
· Interact daily with the government customer and senior corporate executives as a technical and subject matter experts.
· Exercise knowledge of process, system, and rules to enable the effective and efficient accountability and control of DoD assets and resources.
· Ensure projects are successfully executed within resource constraints.
· Ensure products prepared for the clients meet their requirements, are of the highest quality, and are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
· Associates degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
· A minimum of three years of working in an IT data systems environment is required.
· Sole US Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain multiple security clearances.
· Working knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
· Excellent oral and written communications skills.
· Strong business analysis and problem solving skills.
· Ability to work several projects simultaneously and perform daily duties with a minimum of supervision.
· Ability to prioritize, schedule and organize work.
· Ability to sit and operate computing or word processing equipment 100% of work shift.
· Ability to maintain production standards.
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
· Previous DoD Logistics IT data system experience
· Knowledge of DLA/DoD/Federal IT and its related systems (CCR, PCOLS, IUID, CAGE, ORCA, etc.)
