Sr. Basel Market Risk Project Manager - ICG Regulatory Solutions Group

Description To meet the recent changes in the Basel regulations, Citi is executing a capital optimization plan which involves the streamlining of business processes, data enrichments and system enhancements. The Regulatory Solutions Group performs a number of activities to support the successful execution of these capital optimization initiatives.

A senior project manager is sought to oversee key initiatives in regards to the management of optimization activities around Basel IIa rules like VaR, sVaR, IRC, Correlation Trading, Trading Book Securitization. In addition, the role requires the development and initiation of new projects to improve transaction identification and data quality improvements. Further regulatory market risk changes are anticipated through the Basel framework as well as through Dodd Frank legislation. The role is required to stay involved in firm wide initiatives and current regulatory developments to apply the changes to existing projects, infrastructure and processes.

This position requires a highly independent worker who can work in a team environment, investigate the root causes of problems, track and follow up on issues, and demonstrate overall high pro-activity. Excellent interpersonal skills are required given the high level of interaction with senior members, as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. In addition, strong analytical skills with a robust working knowledge on database models and related analytical tools are required. The position will also support other projects and work streams as the function evolves and new projects are identified.

Specific responsibilities include:

- Develop and manage strategic solutions to support the implementations of regulatory requirements around Market Risk and Securitization.
- Proactively develop and implement solutions to a wide range of issues that constantly evolve and are based on regulatory changes.
- Prioritize issues while facilitating the appropriate escalation process ensuring that ownership for corrective action is established and tracked on a daily basis.
- Follow up with the various cross functional organizations that contribute to the successful implementation efforts around corrective actions until all issues are resolved.
- Generate necessary status reporting on the projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate with Risk, Product Control, Operations and Front Office the implementation of corrective actions for the raised issues.
- Generate and implement the appropriate tracking tools and metrics for completion of project plans.
- Develop a strong working relationship with Risk, Finance, Operations and Front Office counterparts across the organization to ensure the success of the lifications

 Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in Financial Services preferred (Market Risk, Securitizations, Securities, Derivatives);
- Strong analytical skills;
- Experience with large complex data sets critical;
- Understanding of data structures, systems and relational databases;
- Project Management Skills are an advantage;
- Strong communication skills required(written, verbal, active listening);
- Ability to independently manage own work across initiatives, exhibiting a high degree of flexibility; productivity and ability to multi-task is a must;
- Consistently produce high quality work, fine-tuned to the audience.
