Job Summary

The Sexual Abuse Response Coordinators (SARCs) serve as the single point of contact for an integrated and transparent response capability and system accountability for sexual assault care at Installation levels.


Job Responsibilities:

* The SARC ensures victims receive appropriate and responsive care with timely access to appropriate services and coordinates the response to the sexual assault and places particular emphasis on victim support and safety

* The SARC oversees routine management and follow up of cases through an established monthly meeting process

* The SARC oversees development and execution of training related to sexual assault

* The SARC has oversight responsibility for victim advocates

* Responsible for intervening in crisis situations using sound professional judgment, ethical practice and common sense

* Work independently to assess risk, develop, implement and evaluate safety and intervention plans to meet victim needs

* Demonstrate understanding, sensitivity and empathy for victims

* Work cooperatively with Military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement and legal personnel on behalf of victims


Qualifications:

* Minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, marriage and family, child counseling, counseling, behavioral science, education, community or public health required

* 5+ years of supervisory experience required

* 2+ years experience working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or victim advocacy services

* 1+ years of experience working with a Military or civilian social service agency strongly preferred

* Posses working knowledge of sexual and domestic violence dynamics, sexual assault, safety planning, risk assessments, local community resources and federal and state laws pertaining to domestic violence and/or sexual assault and the Victim Rights Bill

* Posses working knowledge of Military protocol when addressing Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Government personnel

* Valid and unrestricted motor vehicle license and have transportation to transport victims in crisis (non-emergent) situations

* Computer experience and comfort with using technology as integrated tool for case management

* Military spouse or direct Military experience preferred

* Understanding of other Military and DOD SAPR Programs preferred
