Senior Tax Accountant - Banking
The Senior Tax Accountant will assist in all aspects of the tax reporting and compliance of the company. This role is also a secondary resource to assist other departments as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Prepares monthly tax journal entry and intercompany allocation. Assists with the preparation of the quarterly tax provision.
Maintains tax records and prepares tax returns, related schedules, and related reports.
Prepares federal and state estimated tax payments.
Assists in responding to federal and state information document requests. Drafts technical memos and formal correspondence to tax authorities.
Assists with the development and improvement of various tax templates, e.g., maintenance of deferred tax inventory.
Assists in tax planning and research. Performs other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
BS degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or Business or an equivalent combination of college and experience.
5 – 7 years experience in public accounting or retail banking (publically traded preferred).
Knowledge of tax law and accounting including knowledge of FAS 109.
Excellent project and time management skills.
Must have good work paper skills and have knowledge of standard tax software - Excel, Word, on-line research and tax preparation software.
Ability to excel within time constraints and work well with others within the organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Independence Of Action – Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager. Follows precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager who is available to resolve problems.
Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent preferred.
