Our company is looking for a Supply Planning Manager to support our Apparel business by driving improved inventory turns, hitting target service levels and controlling the creation of excess inventory. The Supply Planning Manager will model, control and develop inventory strategies to meet and exceed all KPI targets. To be successful, this individual will be required to move easily between systematic modeling, detailed tactical analysis and higher level communication of strategies and plans. What will I do at this company?
The Supply Planning Manager owns the processes around establishing safety stocks, modeling inventory, controlling inventory purchases and projecting inventory levels. The individual must be a subject matter expert in inventory management, inventory modeling and Materials Requirement Planning.
Model, establish and track safety stock levels to hit service level targets
Collaborate with Demand Planning to understand all forecast shifts and there impacts on inventory
Work with the FP&A team to build consistent and repeatable processes surrounding the Inventory Roll-Forward projections in order to monitor the status of inventory across multiple programs and channels
Lead efforts with Sourcing to reduce lead times with suppliers and establish multi-echelon supply planning
Model all inventory purchases to meet capacity limitations and multi-tier vendor minimums
Develop inventory management strategies for different categories of product to maximize inventory turns
Collaborate with Sourcing and Sales Planning to determine expedite needs and cancellation requests
Track excess inventory creation and provide root cause analysis to target areas of improvement
Use supply chain optimization systems to model the relationship of service level and inventory turn and the root causes of why inventory is being held
Collaborate with Sourcing and Sales Operations to continue to improve Direct Shipment efforts
Present models, key issues and KPI's to our Executive team during the monthly S&OP process
What does this company need from me?
5+ years of Inventory Management experience in an established wholesale environment -apparel or sporting goods experience preferred.
Experience with multi-echelon supply planning, preferably with experience using Logility, SAP, JDA or Oracle related inventory planning tools
Competent and knowledgeable in utilizing best practices in inventory management, APICS or other Supply Chain organization experience is desired
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Expert level Microsoft Excel and Database Reporting skills are desirable
