Purpose of the role - how it adds value
To be responsible for the set up and maintenance of royalty contracts and the author, payment and product information associated to each contract. To work closely with the royalty administrator, financial control, FP&A and key people across the business in order to deliver robust reporting, calculations and sundry data required to pay and account for the royalties. Will develop specialist knowledge in this area and take full responsibility for the quality of data input into Royalty System.
Main responsibilities of the job
* Interpretation of royalty contracts for set up within the royalty system * QA draft contracts and identify any potential issues before signature * Liaise with Business Units colleagues to find solutions to non-standard deals * specific royalty condition record set up, amendment and maintenance * Maintenance of or amendments to author, contributor and payment details * Strong understanding of product set-up and configuration in relation to royalty obligation * Liaison with colleagues internationally for inter-company products, coding tracking and payments * Strong involvement in ensuring robustness of data and completeness of collection * Input to system error reporting and bug recovery with Royalty Manager * Develop, monitor and clear exception reports from system * Analysis and accounting of royalties spend with Royalty Manager * General Ledger royalty reconciliations * BAU royalty queries both internal and external parties * Undertake specific data cleaning exercises

Qualifications
Experience: relevant experience for the role
* Previous royalties experience preferred * Experience of online/software publishing environment desirable * Sweet and Maxwell product knowledge would be a strong advantage * Having manipulated or collated complex data-sets from various sources into a holistic database
