WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?
The Applied Research team supports commercial lines through class plan development, advanced pricing, underwriting research, operations research, marketing analytics, and product innovation. We seek candidates with both strong analytical skills and business acumen. Responsibilities include building predictive models, communicating regularly with internal customers, and supporting implementation. Typical analyses are executed using state of the art statistical/actuarial methods, including GLMs, CART, and logistic regression. This position is located in Hartford.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION?
Degree in statistics, actuarial science, economics, or other quantitative field plus 3 years experience in statistical modeling or analysis. Education and/or experience must include multivariate regression, including generalized linear modeling, and SAS. Experience in the following areas are desirable: * Insurance industry * Actuarial concepts, including class plan development * Working knowledge of modeling tools (Emblem or R) * Data mining techniques and software (such as decision trees, neural networks)Credit modeling
