Senior Manager – Federal Tax
We are partnering with a "Big 4" accounting firm to identify a high performing Tax Accountant with at least 8 years tax experience.
Our client's Federal Tax Services practice is a resource for clients that need help complying with the latest Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules and regulations. Responsibilities will include:
Provide tax compliance and advisory services to clients within the oil and gas industry, including some or various segments such as upstream, mid-stream, downstream, and oilfield services.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide oil and gas industry knowledge and experience.
Build and manage a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients.
Manage teams of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects and manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections and the budget for projects.
Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice.
Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm.
Qualifications:
Eight (minimum) years of corporate tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm
Bachelor's degree for an accredited college/university and J.D., LL.M. in Taxation, and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA or attorney
Strong technical knowledge in corporate and partnership taxation with emphasis on oil and gas industry issues and experience with accounting for income tax (ASC 740)
Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams
Excellent advisory and compliance skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
Previous Big 4 experience a plus.
