A Senior International Actuarial Retirement Consultant (Principal level) provides advice to clients on a wide range of human resources issues, including the design of benefit and compensation programs around the world, financing of and accounting for the programs, investing retirement plan assets, conducting multi-country mergers and acquisitions, and developing remuneration policies for internationally mobile employees. To fulfill this role, the Senior International Consultant will:
Generate revenue through acquisition of new clients, cross selling to current clients and extension of current client engagements to new activities
Identify appropriate opportunities to partner with consultants in other business lines
Manage multinational client relationships by serving as the client's primary international consulting contact with Mercer
Identify client needs and develop solutions
Account and people management of multinational clients and management of multi country projects
Address corporate HR and Finance queries concerning non-US benefits and compensation including legislative requirements, plan design, vendors and market practice
Advise clients on legislative requirements and market practices for local country benefits and compensation programs
Advise clients around expatriate policies, employment contracts and design and implementation of expatriate benefit plans
Advise clients on design and implementation of benefit plans, HR systems and compensation practices when expanding overseas
Assist clients with the development of global risk frameworks
Manage multi country benefit audits including comparison with market practice
Manage the people aspects of multi country merger and acquisitions across all deal phases (from due diligence to post-deal implementation) for the benefits workstream
Manage global accounting coordination for employee benefit plans
Qualifications
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, finance, or business or related field
Ten or more years relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment
Actuarial designation (ASA / FSA / EA / FIA / FCIA)
Track record of successful client relationship experience and ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of individuals at all levels
Excellent presentation, group facilitation, verbal and written communication skills
Leadership skills, with the ability to be a team player and a strong self-starter
Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills; detail orientation

Intellectual curiosity and aptitude in keeping abreast of developments in global benefits
