Requisition ID 20868BR Position Title Senior Financial Analyst Job Family Accounting & Finance Job Location CA-Santa Ana Employment Category fulltime-regular Job Description The Senior Financial Analyst will 1) ensure that all acquisitions, dispositions and/or merger transactions contemplated by First American, whether they are third-party or related-party transactions, are valued at their true economic value thereby ensuring that shareholder value is maximized and 2) analyze financial results and assist in evaluating future performance of the consolidated organization and segment results.
. Develop and/or enhance Excel-based valuation models for use in assessing the economic value of acquisitions and divestitures . Analyze financial statements, tax returns, industry trends, competitor information, news releases and other data sources, to extract relevant data for use in valuation analyses . Manage multiple valuations at the same time meeting pre-established time lines but able to shift priorities quickly . Develop new management reports that provide insightful and actionable information for use in decision making . Create executive-quality PowerPoint presentations to communicate results of financial analyses and be able to articulate the salient points verbally and with confidence . Perform a wide-variety of tasks related to the monthly and quarterly forecast process and related analysis of financial results Job Qualifications . Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting required with an in-major GPA of 3.5 or higher, MBA preferred . CFA or CFA candidate desirable . 3-5 years of hands-on experience developing sophisticated financial valuation models and performing valuations of public and private companies while working within a Corporate Development, Strategic Planning, or Financial Planning & Analysis department or within an Investment Banking firm . Experience working with target company management, investment banking partners and senior operations executives within your organization . Experience presenting completed valuation analyses to stakeholders in a concise and easy to understand manner; boiling the complexity of the valuation analysis down to more easily understood elements and highlighting the salient points required for executive decision making . Experience performing annual budgets, forecasts, and using formal budgeting tools and ERP systems . Must be able to work independently . Be able to take direction from multiple managers . Valuation techniques: DCF and market comparable analysis; dilution/accretion; capital structure etc . Solid understanding of corporate finance . Expert Excel skills and strong PowerPoint skills . Strong interpersonal skills . Self-motivate and intellectually curious . Experience with Oracle, Essbase, Hyperion Planning % of Travel Required None
