As our Senior Financial Analyst, you'll provide leadership for financial support/advice in the areas of accounting, budgeting/forecasting and financial/operational reporting to drive the current and long-term profitability of our company. You'll prepare and direct preparation of timely and accurate financial and operating summaries (variance analysis, performance recaps, scorecards, etc). You'll prepare write-ups to contain pertinent information to determine progress against strategic plan, budget and forecast. You'll also create in-depth, specific and flexible reporting for the business managers by identifying and/or developing relevant management reporting and analytical tools. You'll verify that financial activity is recorded in accordance with US GAAP. You'll provide proactive/unsolicited consultation to all levels of USSC Management in matters requiring financial and accounting expertise especially as related to labor resource planning, capital spending and investments against budget. Furthermore, you'll educate division personnel on the use and interpretation of financial and operating reports, best practices techniques and budgeting tools. You'll lead the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process, recommending and executing process improvements as necessary. You'll ensure a strong internal control environment by coordinating compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other internal audit reporting. In addition, you'll analyze the department's capabilities and prepare appropriate recommendations to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements for the position include:
- Bachelor's degree in a Business related discipline with emphasis in Accounting, CPA or CMA a plus - 6 - 8 years' extensive experience with a fortune 500 consumer products company - Experience in accounting and financial analysis, planning and budgeting with heavy emphasis on operations related finance - Public or private audit experience - Extensive knowledge of cross-functional supply chain processes and SAP system design is preferred - Strong knowledge of US GAAP, economic profit concepts and budgeting and financial analysis - Experience facilitating meetings and making presentations - Demonstrated leadership capability and basic understanding of managerial concepts and techniques
