Area Overview
The core mission of the Management Information (MI), a Function of the Corporate Group, is to support and add value to the process of managing and allocating resources in support of the Bank's long-term strategic goals; to ensure the integrity of financial control activities; and to promote efficiency in financial management processes.
As a member of the MI team, you will have the opportunity to lead various key projects, provide insightful and relevant analyses that will enable business managers to make timely, well-considered decisions about resource management, and contribute to the work of the Bank from a unique vantage point that provides:
* Insight and exposure to the major issues in business areas throughout the Bank;
* Broad exposure to the workings of the Bank's various committees and workgroups; and
* Opportunity to present your work and provide thought leadership to various levels of the organization and the Federal Reserve System.
The selected candidate will gain unique perspectives of the Bank's business areas by interpreting, reporting and forecasting the Bank's financial and operational data, as well as performing value added analysis.
Job Responsibilities
* Provide finance expertise, thought leadership, and industry best practices for designated business areas;
* Work closely with senior leadership to manage expense and capital planning and controls, improve quality of financial forecasting and spearhead cost reduction initiatives;
* Provide subject matter expertise in the accounting and reporting of capital assets and technical infrastructure;
* Recommend and implement solutions to improve cost controls and risk management
* Create efficiencies in the delivery of finance support services and improve budget planning processes;
* Develop and implement controls designed to maintain compliance with the Federal Reserve System's cost accounting and financial accounting requirements.
* Develop and lead the preparation and presentation of customized ad-hoc analyses to meet client and Management Information needs;
* Author clear, concise, executive level analytics, which include all risks and opportunities to the financials; and
* Monitor and analyze capital compliance for designated business areas.
Job Requirements
* MBA or Masters degree, preferably in accounting or finance;
* CPA and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in a financial services environment, including experience with accounting related to capital assets and technology infrastructure;
* Experience with developing and/or monitoring operating and capital budgets;
* Strong accounting and financial controls background with an understanding of the impact of control design and compliance;
* Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to be part of a team that produces the next generation of analytics;
* Prior work experience or expertise in most of the following areas:
* Balance Sheet and P/L analysis;
* Budgeting / forecasting planning preparation;
* Risk assessment reporting;
* Proficiency in working with different systems to retrieve data via the utilization of various databases to produce and analyze variance reporting;
* Ability to work productively and collaboratively on a high-performance team and as an independent analyst; and
* Ability to produce concise, insightful analysis in written and verbal form.
