Our west end based manufacturing client has an immediate opening for a costing specialist (CA, CMA, CGA) to complete a three month project. In this role you will be working with a cross functional team toward the end goal of implementing standard costing within the organization. In this role you will assess and document current costing methodology, provide detailed recommendation for revised costing methodology, create labour, packaging and overhead standards, systematically implement improvements outlining impact to business and financial statements, analyze impact of standard and BOM changes on cost of product, cost of product cause of change reporting, cost of product forecasts (monthly and ad-hoc), ensure that bills of materials and standard costs changes are updated accurately, maintain standard operating procedures for all tasks, support the cost estimating process and complete ad hoc analysis and reporting as required. The successful candidate for the role will have previous experience in cost accounting in a food manufacturing company, previous experience in assessing and implementing a new cost accounting methodology, excellent communication skills, ability to work under tight timelines, comfort working in a manufacturing plant environment, accounting designation preferred - CA, CMA, CGA, technologically savvy, interacts professionally at all levels both internally and externally and an ability to give strong attention to detail and accuracy of work.
