Job Description Business Unit Overview: Business Services Company, LLC (BSC), provides Exelons subsidiaries with a variety of support services at cost, including legal, human resources, financial, information technology and supply management services. The costs of BSC are directly charged or allocated to the applicable Exelon subsidiaries using appropriate methods. With more than 2,100 employees, BSC provides approximately $1 Billion in professional services to Exelons operating companies.
Job Description This role, part of a 15 member Finance team, provides accounting/financial planning and analysis expertise to senior BSC Finance staff that are dedicated and aligned with the Business Services Practice Areas (i.e., Finance, IT, Supply, Human Resources, etc.) and reports to the Practice Area Manager (E5) in BSC Finance. The position requires a solid understanding of financial planning and analysis along with accounting. Regular interaction with Exelons Operating Companies and personnel in those organizations is an integral part of this role.
Primary Duties & Accountabilities -Prepare and present full year forecasts, and five year Budget/LRP to BSC Practice Area leadership. This includes creation of financial analysis with clear and concise management reporting. -Prepare and present monthly reporting packages for Practice Areas including analysis of current actual results to forecast and budgets, used in key cost management reviews with Practice Area leadership. -Perform run-rate analysis and analytics based on interaction with PA management team to identify opportunity areas for further discussion and action with PA leadership. -Perform analysis for cost management initiatives within PAs with particular focus on controllable costs. -Requires continuous communication and coordination with key members of the BSC Finance team as they provide Practice Area leadership with a broad array of financial support. -Approve accounting transactions as part of monthly financial close process including reconciliations of particular Practice area accounts. -Build strong working relationships with PA personnel and cross-finance groups to facilitate efficiency, knowledge sharing, and opportunities for process improvement.
Position Specifications: -Minimum-Undergraduate degree in accounting and/or finance. MBA in Finance and/or CPA preferred -Experience of 5-7 years in finance and/or accounting related career -Excellent analytical/interpersonal skills and team working capabilities -High degree of ambition and capable of being a self-starter/change agent -Solid skills working with relevant computer applications and systems (e.g. Hyperion).
