Senior Financial Analyst - Hedge Accounting
Financial software firm located in NYC needs:
Senior Financial Analyst - Hedge Accounting
MUST have practical working experience with FAS 133
MUST have FAS 133/157 or hedge fund accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of derivative products; specifically pricing interest rate swaps. Foreign exchange and commodity derivatives as plus. • Must have knowledge of FAS 133/FAS 157/IAS 39/IFRS 7
Responsibilities:
• Manage new client implementations. • Participate with Client calls with auditors • They will be responsible for the management of the NY Team, coordination with the Austria Team and also in assisting the Operations Manager with a variety of tasks and special projects. • Part of the outsourcing department which provides clients with valuation and hedge accounting outsourcing services spanning multiple product asset classes. • The role will involve client implementations, client processing, reporting, analysis and team assistance and management. • The Senior Financial Analyst will review any custom client market data and final results files for valuation and hedge accounting reporting. • In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will interact with clients for new implementations and on-going servicing and will analyze standard trade confirms, book hedged and hedging items, define hedge designations/relationships and run effectiveness, risk and MTM reports. • They will also be responsible for mentoring and reviewing junior team members.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years of FAS 133, FAS 91 software support/accounting experience
Strong accounting fundamentals
Bachelors Degree
• The desire to work in an intense, fast paced, hard working and committed environment with a talented team • Finance or Accounting degree and strong numeracy skills • Strong knowledge of derivative products; specifically pricing interest rate swaps. Foreign exchange and commodity derivatives as plus. • Must have knowledge of FAS 133/FAS 157/IAS 39/IFRS 7 • Hedge Accounting, derivative valuations • Strong excel skills • Strong documentation and analytical skills • Good interpersonal skills for client and team interaction • Management experience leadinga nd mentoring a team.
