Senior Financial Analyst - Cap. Planning / Budget
Our client, a leading health care and medical research organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst of capital budget and planning for its New York City, New York location. This position works with the Assistant Director and Senior Director of Capital Budget and Planning, Real Estate Development and Facilities and Medical Center Information Technology group, to ensure that the Medical Center budget activity is meeting the Institution's goals and standards.
Key Responsibilities: * Assist in managing the annual budgeting process of large strategic capital projects * Review, analyze, and process budget modifications for capital budgets within the scope of strategic initiatives; ensuring compliance with existing policy and maintaining clear audit trails of all changes * Maintain controls on all budget uploads to the General Ledger System * Work with the Budget Analysts in the Production and distribution of monthly budget reports, analyzing differences between budget and actual performance * Liaison with the different groups for all their Strategic Budget needs, planning and implementation of the capital/fixed asset ledger and project costing modules in PeopleSoft * Assist the Assistant Director and Senior Director with special projects as needed
The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with at least five years of related experience * An MS in Construction Management is preferred * An MBA or MPA with strong skills in Construction Management is preferred * Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of all applications within Microsoft Office are essential * Skills in the PeopleSoft System, preferably of the capital / fixed asset ledger and the Project Costing Capital Module are also preferred
