Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Compliance Consulting, the incumbent will be an in-depth compliance and technical resource to support Lincoln Financial Group clients and staff. Additionally, this position provides sophisticated regulatory information, drafting and interpretation of plan documents and other ancillary documentation including regulatory filings. The Senior Compliance Consultant collaborates with Compliance and Plan Document Services, Account Executives, Distribution, Account Management, Installation, and Defined Contribution Client Services teams
Responsibilities: * Serves as a technical resource for assigned customers as well as distribution partners, LFG associates, and other business partners for plan design as it relates to non-discrimination testing, plan compliance, and problem resolution. * Assists in reviewing plan document designs, providing feedback regarding impact of design on plan testing, recommending plan design alternatives and subsequent amendment language for plan documents. * Assists plan sponsors in resolving compliance issues by researching, consulting and recommending a corrective action. * Monitors and analyzes legal and regulatory changes. Researches complex issues to determine appropriate action and/or strategic direction. * Presents and/or facilitates technical training and guidance on qualified plan laws and procedures. * Drafts technical communications for internal and external audiences. * Maintains a through understanding of plan document provisions, specifying testing techniques and/or testing correction methods * Interprets individually designed and prototype plan documents to ensure continual compliance with legal interpretation and ramifications of continually changing Federal tax laws and regulations. * Serves as technical consultant for market and risks associated with different plan designs. * May be called upon to representLincolnby sharing technical expertise at local/regional industry conferences. Job Requirements Qualifications: * Bachelors degree desired along with a strong demonstrated working knowledge of laws and regulations related to qualified plans (IRS, DOL, ERISA, TEFRA, DEFRA, ERTA, TRA�86, SBJPA, TRA�97, GUST, EGTRRA, etc) and of plan types (money purchase, 401(k), profit sharing, 403(b), 457(b)/(f) plans, etc.) as may be gained by a minimum of 7+ years related business experience. Technical Skills: * Knowledge of the defined contribution industry, as well as Retirement Solutions products and procedures. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to qualified plans and plan design. Demonstrated knowledge of plan compliance issues and implementation processes as may be gained by 7+ years related business experience. * Demonstrated knowledge of pension and annuity products, associated procedures and target markets * Familiarity with systems and/or software used for plan documents, testing and government form preparation * Working knowledge of strategic focus in the group pension and annuities markets to ensure compliance within a constantly changing regulatory environment * Strong problem solving, research, and communication skills * Interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, relationship building, and negotiation * Demonstrated ability to develop and present materials to varied audiences
